Preparation
- Start by cleaning the glass vase or holder thoroughly. Remove any labels and residue, which could interfere with the paint adhering properly.
- Lightly sand the surface where you plan to paint to promote better adhesion.
Taping Off
- Using masking tape, cover any sections of the glass that you do not want to be painted. This step is crucial for ensuring clean edges.
Painting
- In a well-ventilated area, apply a coat of matte spray paint to the exposed areas of the glass. Hold the spray can at least six to eight inches away to avoid drips and ensure an even coat.
- Allow it to dry completely before adding more layers if necessary for full coverage.
Finishing
- Once your paint has dried thoroughly, carefully remove the masking tape.
- Inspect your candle holder for any areas that may need touch-ups. Optionally, you can decorate the holder further with painted designs.
- Finally, place a candle in the holder. Consider using LED candles for a safe display.
Notes
Apply paint in light coats and allow each layer to dry completely to prevent runs. Ensure smooth sanding to avoid visible scratches. Always work in a well-ventilated area when using spray paints.
